1320 - Declaration of Arbroath - the Scottish Declaration of Independence. Alan Murray is one of the signers.

1715 - First Jacobite Rebellion - attempts to return the Stuarts to the throne. Lord George Murray and Lord Charles Murray each lead Atholl regiments. Their father, John Murray, the 1st Duke of Atholl, remains loyal to the Hanover King.
1745 - Second Jacobite Rebellion - Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) tries to take the throne with the aid of Lord George and Lord Charles Murray.
